About Tortola

Tortola, the largest of the British Virgin Islands, is a place where turquoise waters meet lush green hills and a relaxed island spirit fills the air. More than just a beautiful destination, Tortola is especially meaningful to Sydney, as it feels like her second “back home” alongside Guyana. It’s an island tied to family, roots, and cherished memories—making it the perfect place for us to gather, celebrate love, and begin our next chapter together.

Reminder: Tortola is located in the British Virgin Islands, a valid passport is mandatory.

Getting to Tortola

There are 2 ways to get to Tortola, BVI from the USA. You can book a flight directly to the island, or you can fly into St. Thomas and take a 60-minute ferry to Road Town, Tortola.

Flying into St. Thomas

If you want to fly into St. Thomas from Connecticut or New York search BDL to STT or JFK to STT.

Where to Stay

We’ve put together some of our favorite Tortola recommendations. Keep in mind that September is the island’s quiet season, and much of the island may be shut down or operating on reduced hours. Here are a few exceptional villas from Chapman Property Group that I confidently recommend, each offering stunning views, thoughtful design, and an authentic Caribbean experience in the British Virgin Islands.
